This specimen is from Huanggangliang, Inner Mongolia, China. This specimen contains several pyrrhotite crystals which display a classic bronze to a highly iridescent purple color when turned in the light. Several lusterous black marmatite (sphalerite) are also present.
This specimen is from Chia Mine, Sao Jose do Safira, Doce Valley, MG Brazil. Crystal exhibits vertical striations and fiberous termination. The tourmaline is of good lustre and an evergreen color. A single 2.2 cm quartz crystral sits prominately on the surface of the tourmaline at the termination.
This specimen is from Amboarohy, Zatafotsy, Fianaratsoa, Madagascar. The 1.8 x 1.2 crystal is accompanied by coarse garnet as well as a black schist matrix. The face of the crystal exhibits triangular growth pattern. Mounted on a glass display stand.
This specimen is from Amboarohy, Zatafotsy, Fianarantsoa, Madagascar. The 1.5 cm doubly terminated crystal transitions from a ruby red at the top to a bluish purple at the base. The crystal along with a grouping of crude garnet crystals sits on white calcite and a small amount of granite/schist matrix.
