These specimens are becoming very hard to acquire. This specimen was part of an older collection recently acquired. The cubes are a rooter color with a pale purple zone outlining the crystals. Individual crystal faces measure up to 1.8cm on edge. The specimen is from the Crystal Victory Mine, Hardin Co., Illinois.
A large tanzanite crystal measuring 6.5cm in length and 3.8 cm in width! The color ranges from a deep translucent blue in the center/bottom of the crystal to a combination blue and white around the balance of the crystal. A clear 1.2 cm quartz crystal sitting on the front edge of the tanzanite crystal provides added aesthetics. This specimen is from Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mts., Simanjro District, Manyara Region, Tanzania.
