This specimen from Felsobanya, Romania was originally from the collection of William Schultz. It was mined ca.1970 as described on the label. The specimen is composed of a cluster of grey-blue tabular blades. The crystals are rimmed with clear barite periphery. Mounted on a plexiglass base to enhance presentation.

Barite
This is a cabinet specimen with presence. The largest barite crystal is 5.5 cm in length by 2.1 cm thick. It is accompanied by two other barites which sit separately and distinctly in the cavernous matrix along with rhombs of calcite approximately 2.0 cm in length. The base of this specimen is sawn to allow perfect display orientation. Specimen is from Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Iowa.

Calcite, Barite, and Sphalerite
