Interesting specimen from Sweet Home Mine, Alma Mining District, Park Co., Colorado, USA. The large rhodocrosite showing on the bottom corner of this specimen is cleaved. However, there is a ribbon of lovely red rhodochrosite rhombs draped across the top of the matrix. Individual rhombs are up to 0.6 cm in length. The balance of matrix face has small quartz and pyrite crystals scattered across it.

This is a cabinet specimen with presence. The largest barite crystal is 5.5 cm in length by 2.1 cm thick. It is accompanied by two other barites which sit separately and distinctly in the cavernous matrix along with rhombs of calcite approximately 2.0 cm in length. The base of this specimen is sawn to allow perfect display orientation. Specimen is from Linwood Mine, Buffalo, Iowa.
